An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and economist Pat Utomi has said that the country is currently in deep crisis.
Utomi also said that Nigeria is on a rolling civil war.
Speaking the pre-convocation of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), the former presidential aspirant said there is a deceit by Nigerians regarding the condition of Nigeria.
Utomi: “If we were not living in denial, one of the things we would have realized is that our country is in a rolling civil war.‎”
“We are struggling with Boko Haram, crisis in the north Central and in the South-South, we are dealing with all kinds of issues like militancy and so forth.
“More people die in Nigeria, a violent death than many of the countries in war.‎ What we have in Nigeria is an evergreen civil war.
Utomi questioned the possibility of making progress in an environment laden with violence.
He said many Nigerians are struggling over irrelevant issues.
The economist further called on the Nigerian government to alleviate poverty among citizens before it becomes too late.
